The local business community has a full slate of networking and development opportunities scheduled for Friday, May 31. From morning coffee meetups to afternoon workshops, professionals across the tri-county area have several options to connect and learn.
The day kicks off with the Chamber of Commerce's "First Cup" networking breakfast at the Downtown Civic Center from 7:30 to 9:00 AM. This monthly event is open to all business owners and managers, offering a casual setting to exchange leads and discuss regional economic trends. Coffee and pastries are provided.
At noon, the Small Business Development Center hosts a free lunch-and-learn session titled "Navigating Supply Chain Disruptions." The workshop will be held at the County Library's community room and focuses on practical strategies for local manufacturers and retailers facing delayed shipments and rising costs. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch.
Later in the afternoon, the Women in Business Alliance meets at the Harbor View Hotel for a panel discussion on work-life balance. The session runs from 4:00 to 5:30 PM and features three local entrepreneurs sharing their approaches to managing teams and family commitments.
Evening events include a mixer hosted by the Young Professionals Network at the new Artisan Brewing Company taproom on Main Street. The gathering starts at 6:00 PM and includes complimentary appetizers and a cash bar. Registration is requested for all events, and walk-ins are welcome where space allows.
