Popular Tex-Mex Chain Closes All Locations After 17 Years in Business

Popular Tex-Mex Chain Closes All Locations After 17 Years in Business

A Florida-based Tex-Mex restaurant chain that opened its first spot in 2009 has closed all of its doors for good. The company, known for its casual dining and margarita-heavy menu, confirmed the shutdown after operating for nearly two decades.

The chain started with a single location in the Sunshine State and grew to a regional favorite, with outlets in several states across the Southeast. Customers often praised the loaded nachos, sizzling fajitas, and the free chips and salsa that arrived within minutes of sitting down. But in recent years, the brand faced mounting pressure from rising food costs, labor shortages, and shifting dining habits. Foot traffic declined as more people chose delivery or cheaper fast-casual options.

Management released a short statement thanking employees and regulars for their loyalty, but did not give a detailed reason for the sudden closure. Some locations had already been listed as permanently closed on local directories earlier this week, while others simply locked their doors without notice. A few franchise owners said they were told just days before the final shutdown, leaving staff and suppliers scrambling.

The closure marks the end of a run that saw the chain expand to over 30 restaurants at its peak. For longtime fans, the loss is personal. Many grew up celebrating birthdays and post-game dinners at the same booth seats. Now, those memories are all that remain. The company has not said whether it plans to sell the brand or reopen under a new name. For now, the parking lots are empty, and the neon signs are dark.
