'Best, worst and only Deadhead store' in French Quarter holds closing sale as construction drags on

Owners blame the months-long Sewerage & Water Board infrastructure project that has torn up the street and chased away foot traffic. The work has been a nightmare for businesses along the corridor. Cafe Sbisa and the Michelin-recognized LUFU NOLA both recently left the area, citing similar struggles.

For now, the shop is selling off its inventory of tie-dye, pins, and handmade crafts. The owners say they are looking for a new location but have not found one yet. Regulars have been stopping by to say goodbye and grab last-minute souvenirs. The closure marks the end of a quirky, beloved spot that catered to both tourists and local Deadheads who appreciated its offbeat charm.
