A vehicle plowed into the front of a Little Caesars Pizza location in Edgewater on Tuesday, causing significant structural damage but resulting in no injuries. The crash occurred at the restaurant on South Ridgewood Avenue, where the car smashed through the lobby area during business hours.
Emergency crews responded to the scene after the driver lost control and struck the building. Witnesses reported hearing a loud crash as the vehicle tore through the glass storefront and came to rest inside the dining area. The impact left the entrance heavily damaged, with debris scattered across the floor and the frame of the building compromised.
Despite the force of the collision, employees and customers inside the restaurant at the time were not hurt. Local authorities confirmed that no one required medical transport. The driver of the vehicle was also uninjured and remained at the scene to speak with deputies.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Officials have not released details on whether speed, mechanical failure, or driver error played a role. The restaurant was closed following the incident while cleanup and structural assessments began. Business owners are expected to coordinate with insurance adjusters and contractors to repair the damage before reopening.
