Curis Provides First Quarter 2026 Business Update

Curis, Inc., a biotechnology company advancing the development of its lead drug candidate emavusertib, provided a business update for the first quarter of 2026. The company is focused on emavusertib, an orally available small molecule inhibitor designed to target IRAK4 and FLT3 mutations, which are implicated in certain blood cancers and other hematologic malignancies.

During the quarter, Curis continued to enroll patients in its ongoing clinical trials, including the TakeAim Leukemia study. This trial is evaluating emavusertib in patients with relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and high-risk myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). The company reported that it has achieved key enrollment milestones and is on track to provide updated clinical data later this year.

On the financial side, Curis reported its cash position and operating expenses for the quarter. The company stated that its current resources are expected to fund operations into the second half of 2027, providing a runway to reach important clinical inflection points. Research and development expenses remained steady as the company invested in trial execution and manufacturing scale-up.

Curis also highlighted its ongoing collaboration with academic institutions and regulatory discussions aimed at accelerating the development pathway for emavusertib. The company remains committed to addressing unmet medical needs in patients with limited treatment options. No new partnerships or licensing agreements were announced during the period.
