Man arrested after burglarizing 26 Philadelphia businesses, police say

A man wanted in connection with a string of commercial burglaries across Philadelphia has been taken into custody in Florida, according to police. Authorities say the suspect is believed to be responsible for breaking into at least 26 businesses throughout the city over the past several weeks.

The investigation began after a pattern emerged in the burglaries, with the suspect targeting stores and restaurants, primarily during overnight hours. Police reviewed surveillance footage from multiple locations and were able to link the incidents through similar methods of entry and the type of items stolen, which included cash and electronics.

Detectives eventually identified the suspect and learned he had fled the state.
