The Pentagon's joint counter-drone office has opened a new digital marketplace, built with Kaizen Laboratories, that lets military buyers browse and compare anti-drone systems the same way they might shop for consumer electronics. The platform filters options by price, specific features, performance data, and user reviews, giving units a faster path from need to purchase.
Instead of sifting through scattered contracts or relying on word of mouth, commanders can now search for gear that matches their exact mission profile. They can sort by cost, check how a system performed in field tests, and read feedback from other units that have used it in real operations. The goal is to cut the time it takes to get proven technology into the hands of troops facing small drones, which have become a persistent threat on battlefields and around bases.
The marketplace is part of a broader push to speed up procurement for counter-drone tools, which have evolved rapidly as inexpensive quadcopters and fixed-wing drones have changed modern warfare. By centralizing options in one place, the Pentagon hopes to avoid buying redundant or underperforming systems and instead steer dollars toward gear that has already shown it works.
Officials say the platform will be updated regularly as new products enter the market and as performance reviews come in from the field. For now, access is limited to authorized military users, but the structure is designed to scale as more units and vendors join. The move signals a shift toward treating drone defense less like a niche specialty and more like a standard part of military supply.
