SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. - Emergency crews are on the scene of a natural gas leak that prompted evacuations of nearby businesses Thursday afternoon. The incident is located near the intersection of Hoepker Road and South Legacy Way, according to Sun Prairie Fire & EMS and Police.
Authorities are currently monitoring the situation and have established a safety perimeter around the affected area. The leak was reported earlier in the day, and as a precaution, employees from several commercial buildings were asked to leave the premises.
Fire officials have not provided a timeline for when the leak will be fully contained or when businesses will be allowed to reopen. Crews from the local gas utility are working to isolate the source of the leak.
