Ball State University held its 2026 commencement ceremony for the Miller College of Business and the College of Information and Media last weekend, marking a milestone for hundreds of graduates. The event took place at the university's main arena, filled with families, faculty, and friends cheering on the new alumni.
The Miller College of Business saw students from accounting, finance, marketing, and entrepreneurship programs walk the stage. Dean of the college addressed the crowd, highlighting the resilience of the class and their readiness for the evolving business landscape. Many graduates wore stoles and cords representing honors societies and student organizations.
Across the aisle, the College of Information and Media celebrated its own cohort of graduates from journalism, telecommunications, computer science, and design programs. A student speaker from the journalism department delivered a speech about the importance of storytelling in a digital age, drawing applause from the audience.
Photographers captured moments of handshakes, diploma presentations, and cap tosses. Some graduates decorated their mortarboards with inside jokes, future job titles, or tributes to family members. The ceremony concluded with a recessional as bagpipes played, leading the new graduates out into the lobby where they reunited with loved ones for photos and congratulations.
